JIU JITSU PROGRAMS
Our Adult Jiu Jitsu program is for beginners to advanced practitioners and competitors. Our beginner curriculum focuses on fundamental movements, concepts and positions, while our advanced curriculum does deep dives into techniques to help students follow their own creative and athletic intuition and further develop their own unique game.
Our “Kid’s Crew” program for ages 3-13 focuses on character building, self-defense and technical Jiu Jitsu training, covering fundamentals from take-downs, positions, and transitions, to age appropriate submissions and competition skills. We do this in a cooperative and respectful environment of fun and learning!
Private and semi-private lessons are a great way to accelerate your learning, gain insight and break through plateaus. Students are encouraged to define a goal or problem, explore new skills, tactics and strategies, or incorporate the more ineffable aspects of
Jiu Jitsu into their game.
All visitors and new members are highly encouraged to participate in our free 30-minute orientation class. In this class you will tour the gym, learn some basic Jiu Jitsu terminology and moves, and have the opportunity to ask lots of questions. If the orientation class does not fit your schedule, or if you’ve done a bit of Jiu Jitsu before, you are welcome to start with another beginner level class.
For both beginners and experienced practitioners, this class has two equally valuable focuses: 1.) To introduce new students to the fundamental movements, concepts, and positions of Jiu Jitsu. 2.) For established students to refine and elevate their core grappling techniques. This class is the bedrock of our Jiu Jitsu curriculum, and at the heart of all the techniques, concepts, and strategies that are taught at our school.
The purpose of this class is to take a “deep dive” on one submission or position at a time to allow students to readily incorporate the technique into their games. This will involve significant repetition (isolation), sparring (integration), and dialogue about the details, application, and limits of the technique. The course material will be broad and will not necessarily be cyclical. The aim is to spend significant time on a wide variety of techniques so that students can follow their own creative and athletic intuition and further develop their own unique game.
This Gi class is focused on building good habits, and improving the function and application of previously acquired skills. With an emphasis on doing, this course includes both partner and group work through drills, positional and situational sparring, and multiple variations of objective oriented sparring.
Our youngest students’ program targets awareness and increased coordination, improvement in children’s vestibular system and comfort with multiplanar and directional movement, following 1-2 step directions that includes use of their body, working with other people’s bodies in a safe way, focused attention, and HAVING FUN with others. We also target the primary movements and skills/terminology of Jiu Jitsu to prepare for our Little Roller’s program at age 5.
Our younger students receive technical Jiu Jitsu training, covering fundamentals from take downs, positions, and transitions, to age appropriate submissions and competition skills. Throughout class each month, the students continually review the importance of teamwork, focus and the value of the month.
Our older students follow a tailored curriculum, based on Impact’s current Blue Belt Curriculum for adults. The curriculum was designed at Impact by Impact and supports preparation for Blue Belt eligibility at age 16 and requires significant knowledge of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. This program supports basic and advanced BJJ techniques and offers tournament preparation.

For your first class, wear breathable athletic clothing and a water bottle. We have loaner uniforms if one is required that day.
Nope! Most of our members start just like you. We assess each new members fitness level. Jiu Jitsu can be “universally scaled”, and it might look different for every practitioner based on their level. As you level up you can take on more challenging variants and levels of intensity.
